Over 140 Amichi Indigenes Enrol Into ASHIA

Choice Chioma | I-Witness News

No fewer than 143 indigenes of Ihe village, Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State have been enrolled into the State health insurance scheme by a philanthropist and notable son of the community, Dr Onyekwelu C. Nzewi through the adoption model strategy that allows well meaning individuals to enroll their relatives and friends by paying the annual premium.

Mrs Chioma Iriemenam, the spokesperson to the philanthropist, emphasized Dr Nzewi’s commitment to improving the quality of life of the people of Amichi. She said that it was his dream and vision that the indigent people of the community enjoy access to quality healthcare at little or no cost.

Speaking on behalf of Dr Simeon Onyemaechi, the Managing Director of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Mrs Nneoma Anoliefo sensitized the villagers on the benefits of health insurance as it helps save cost of hospital bills and also ensures quality healthcare treatment to the enrollees. She appealed to the beneficiaries to make use of the chosen health facility and access quality treatment.

Mrs Ogechukwu Okoli, a newly enrolled beneficiary expressed gratitude for Dr Nzewi’s benevolence and expressed optimism that the high cost of hospital bills will be drastically reduced.
