The Anambra state Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) has taken to the motor parks the registration of commercial vehicle drivers who have paid their mandatory monthly levies to the state to benefit from the free health insurance premium offered by the Governor of Anambra state, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, CFR.
Speaking at one of the registration points, the MD of ASHIA, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi appealed to commercial motorcycle and bus drivers, tricycle riders and others to come and register to benefit from all the packages offered by the Agency.
” Few months ago, Mr. Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in his magnanimity offered the drivers free health insurance insofar the person has paid the statutory monthly driving permit in the state”.
“Immediately, we started engaging with leadership of the unions so that they can bring their members to register and enjoy our numerous health packages in the state”.
“I’m glad to announce that today, the outcome of our serial engagements is the commencement of this exercise in your loading bays. With the ASHIA enrollee card, the beneficiary can access quality healthcare from accredited facilities across the state.
” We thank Mr. Governor for this gesture which is first of it’s kind by any state Government in Nigeria and we assure Ndi Anambra and residents that ASHIA which has been adjudged by health experts as one of the best performing health insurance schemes in the country is delivering innovative ways of managing the enrollee-health facility managers relationship. And we are happy with the testimonies from our enrolees, including some of your members who already registered last year November and have since commenced accessing care from their preferred hospitals across Anambra State.”, Dr. Onyemaechi said.
At the Regina Caeli park in Awka, one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Sunday Nwankwo thanked the governor for his benevolence and the agency for a seamless process.
