As part of strategies to assure quality of services in the scheme by the accredited healthcare facilities, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) held a refresher training for the Matrons and other nurses of its Accredited Healthcare Providers (HCPs)
The CEO of ASHIA, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi, while addressing the Nurses in the Conference Room of the Agency Headquarters in Awka on Tuesday March 21, explained in details ASHIA operational guidelines which contain the modus operandi of the scheme.
Dr Onyemaechi equally took time to discuss the benefit package of services covered by the scheme ranging from the primary services which are reimbursed prospectively through capitation as well as the secondary services that require pre-authorization code for access and reimbursed retrospectively by fee-for-service.
He charged them to maintain a good working relationship with ASHIA desk officers at their various facilities as this will help them implement the scheme more effectively and efficiently in their various facilities.
He reiterated the need to internalise the content of the operational guidelines, which will help them to make better choices and serve ASHIA enrollee better.
He finally, reminded them to submit their current Nursing license and certificates to ASHIA office so as to update the personnel database of the participating healthcare providers maintained by the Agency.
