Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) has expanded their enrollees benefit package to cover prostatectomy for men, MRI and CT scan starting from March 2023.
The CEO of ASHIA, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi made this known during an interactive meeting with all the MD’s of the Accredited healthcare providers held today 16th March at the IDk learning center Awka.
Dr Onyemaechi said that the gesture is geared towards accommodating the health needs of our enrollees, “many requests have been made towards that and it has been considered and approved in order to meet the needs of our enrolless”
Dr Onyemaechi also mandated all ASHIA
healthcare providers to submit the practicing license of all their consultants annually, he said that “this is one of the mechanisms put in place to check mate mismanagement of ASHIA enrollees”
The CEO re-emphasized that “ASHIA is set to standardize our scheme” therefore he pleaded with them to caution their staff on the delay of issuing the pre authorization code of the enrollees and over billing them for drugs and services.
“Over the years we have had certain facilities who have tried to give us terrible reputation by overcharging our enrollees for the drugs already capitated for”.
Addressing the participants, Dr Onyemaechi said that measures have been put in place to checkmate the activities of the hospital but if such complain keep coming, then the facility will be de-listed from ASHIA hospitals.
