Desk Officers from various Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) accredited health facilities recently met with Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of ASHIA.
The gathering was not only a platform for vital discussions but also an occasion to recognize and reward exemplary performance. Mrs. Adaeze Tabugbo, an ASHIA desk officer at COUTH, was honored with a cash prize of 50,000 naira for her outstanding dedication. Additionally, 14 other diligent desk officers received commendations and a reward of 10,000 naira each, aimed at motivating and inspiring others to strive for excellence.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the management and staff of the health insurance scheme to rub minds together with ASHIA accredited health care facilities desk officers on how best to improve the services of the scheme.
As part of the initiative, ASHIA conducted a re-training session for desk officers, focusing on addressing common errors encountered during the process of requesting pre-authorization codes.
Emphasizing the importance of adherence to protocols, Dr. Onyemaechi urged desk officers to familiarize themselves with the scheme’s manual to ensure a comprehensive understanding of operational procedures.
Furthermore, Dr. Onyemaechi underscored the significance of fair pricing, cautioning against overcharging enrolees. He warned of potential penalties for violations, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring equitably distributed access to healthcare services for all beneficiaries.
