Over 140 indigenes of Umuoji have been enrolled into the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) through the support of the Idemili Foundation DMV Inc., Maryland, USA branch.
Speaking at the enrollment event, Miss Onyinye Egwuatu, representing ASHIA Managing Director Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, highlighted the benefits of health insurance. She described it as a vital tool for accessing quality, affordable, and reliable healthcare services, ultimately enhancing overall well-being.
Miss Egwuatu emphasized that health insurance ensures access to healthcare regardless of one’s health status and encouraged regular check-ups to prevent severe health issues.
Mr. Nnadi Chimezie, a newly enrolled beneficiary, expressed his gratitude, sharing that the initiative had relieved him of the financial strain of hospital visits. “With my ASHIA registration, I can now access healthcare without fear of high medical bills,” he remarked.
This initiative has provided much-needed health security and marked a significant step towards promoting accessible healthcare in the Umuoji community and Anambra State at large.
